Privacy Notice

What this website collects, why, and what your rights are.

DeltaBreen Limited (“we”), a company registered in Ireland with company number 826627, is the data controller for personal data collected through deltabreen.eu. We collect as little as possible: there are no advertising trackers, no analytics cookies and no accounts on this site. This notice explains the three things we do process, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. The contact form

When you submit the form on our contact page we receive the name, email address or phone number, subject and message you enter, how you heard about us if you choose to say, and the short code in the link you arrived by, if any (for example the town printed on a flyer). The call-back form under the website check results works the same way, and also sends us the address you checked and its results, so the engineer who replies knows what you saw. Both are delivered to us as an email and stored in our company mailbox.

  • Purpose: to reply to your enquiry and, if you engage us, to carry out the work you have asked about.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f)), and where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
  • Retention: for as long as the enquiry and any resulting business relationship require, after which the correspondence is deleted. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
  • Recipients: the DeltaBreen engineers who handle enquiries. Our email is hosted by Tutanota (Tuta Mail) in Germany, within the European Union.

2. The website check

When you use the free website check, we receive the website address you enter and use it once, to look up that site and its email settings and show you the results. We do not store the address or the results, and we do not record them in our logs, unless you ask us to call you back, when they are sent to us with your details as described in section 1. To stop the check and the forms being misused, we count requests per IP address for ten minutes, in memory only.

  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing the check you asked for and preventing its misuse (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • What the check does: it makes the same public requests a browser or mail server would: DNS lookups and a request for the site’s home page.

3. Spam protection and website hosting

This site is served through Cloudflare, and the contact form and website check are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated abuse. Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical browser information for that purpose and for the security and performance of the site. Our own server records standard web-server access logs, which include the IP address and pages requested, and which we keep only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.

  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and available (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Transfers: Cloudflare is a US company that operates within the EU and relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses for any transfers outside the European Economic Area.

4. Cookies

We do not set cookies for tracking or analytics. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie as part of the Turnstile challenge on the contact page and the website check; it is not used to identify you across sites.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased;
  • restrict or object to our processing of it;
  • receive the data you gave us in a portable format.

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

6. Changes to this notice

We will update this page if the way the site handles personal data changes. The current version is always at deltabreen.eu/privacy/.
